Chona Piumarta, founder of The Pastry Cupboard, is an established pastry chef in the Bay Area. Prior to starting her own line of desserts, Chona was the Executive Pastry Chef at The Slanted Door. Chona served as the opening Pastry Chef for Bradley Ogden’s Lark Creek Steak at the West Field Centre, garnering some of the best reviews for the restaurant. Chona also served as the Executive Pastry Chef at Restaurant Lulu in San Francisco and at the distinguished The Plumed Horse, in Saratoga, California. Chona is a graduate from the California Culinary Academy.
Chona’s love for fresh, all-natural ingredients are evident in the style and flavor profiles of her desserts and pastries. A direct connection with nature inspires Chona to create desserts that highlights and focuses on the seasonal, balanced flavor, texture, and vibrant colors of the freshest ingredients. A delicate symmetry of flavors, and simple but beautiful presentations of desserts has become the trademark of Chona’s desserts. |
